Hans Christian Andersen 2005 was a worldwide celebration of the writer’s bi-centenary. "A Tivoli Fairytale – Celebrating Hans Christian Andersen" was created as Tivoli’s contribution to their country’s celebration.

Intended only for a one-year run, due to the success of the show it ran again during the Summer of 2006 season.

As co-producer with Tivoli, WOW!Works® created and produced this proscenium and processional style entertainment event with a Danish and American team. As producer, we were responsible for all elements of the production from script and music creation to fabrication, cueing, and rehearsals.
 

• Tivoli is considered one of the crown jewels of Denmark, and also one of the oldest and most beautiful theme parks in the world. We were challenged to create a spectacular that matched the grace and charm of the part
• Although there was a long pre-production period, actual construction of the new stage, lighting positions, or puppet storage facility (affectionately called the Doll House), could not begin until after the holiday season, during the worst weather months of January – March
• The show was cast in Copenhagen, but height and strength requirements and traditional long vacations during the summer required us to double cast the show

• While spectacular in nature, the WOW!Works® team and their Danish partners were able to still provide touching moments for kids and adults alike
• Up close special effects including pyrotechnics, smoke, snow, and bubbles made the experience immersive and personally impactful for audiences
