Hans Christian Andersen 2005 was a worldwide celebration of the writer’s bi-centenary. "A Tivoli Fairytale – Celebrating Hans Christian Andersen" was created as Tivoli’s contribution to their country’s celebration.
A spectacular show, best described as an extravaganza of puppets, light, music, pyrotechnics, and special effects. Hans Christian Andersen 2005 featured soaring puppets that glided through the byways of Tivoli Gardens to an open-air stage. Through an original score and imaginative storytelling, the beloved fairytales of Hans Christian Andersen come to life through the movements of the puppets and a talented case of 50 performers.
Intended only for a one-year run, due to the success of the show it ran again during the Summer of 2006 season.
