Project Description:
For the 5th Anniversary Celebration of Universal Studios Japan an all-new Nighttime Spectacular based on the story of Peter Pan was developed for the central lagoon area.
WOW!Works® Role:
The “Neverland” show depicts the story of “Peter Pan” utilizing three floating stages, acrobatics, flying, water effects, and special effect pyrotechnics. WOW!Works supplied pyro design and special effect consulting to Universal Studios Japan to produce a unique and very classic look in conjunction with lighting, set, and mechanical techniques to harmonize with a great soundtrack and script.
Project Challenges:
Working in a foreign country with different explosive regulations
Working in a very fast time line for production
Working with some of the design team we knew and some that were new and had different methods of operations
Why It Worked:
The show has been a great addition to the 5th Anniversary Celebration and attendance at the park has increased
This spectacular ran for three years (2006, 2007, 2008) and for 2009 has become a daytime entertainment offering
